Where to find us
Coleford is a historic market town in the Forest of Dean, just South of the A4136 between Monmouth and Gloucester. Click on the map to get a browsable electronic map.
If you want to make a day of it there a lots of local attractions including the atmospheric Puzzle Wood, which has featured as a location in T.V programs such as Dr Who and films such as Lord of the Rings. Or why not buy your picnic from the market and go for a stroll in the Forest? SeeTourist Informationfor more ideas.
We've chosen to be right in the centre of Coleford on Fridays, which is the historic Clock Tower in Market Place (GL16 8AA). The Market is usually held under two gazebos beside the Clock Tower, but when it's just too wet and windy you might find us tucked away inside.
The Clock Tower was originally part of an unusual octagonal church built in 1821. The church was demolished in 1882 but the Clock Tower was left as the focal point of the town and the area it overlooks became the traditional site for markets.
On Saturdays we're now making a 50 metre trek down Mushet Walk to just outside the Co-op entrance. Being nearer to the car park is more convenient for many of our customers (and we've gained some who hadn't even known we existed before!)
