Local handcrafted and homemade products
About us
About Coleford country Market
Our aim is to encourage the public to discover the diversity and deliciousness of local craft and food.

We meet the producers who pride themselves on the quality of their goods and the friendliness of their markets, many of which have become popular and lively meeting places.
Equally we aim to bring on board new producers and introduce them to the public so they can bring their products to a wide range of people – ideal to find out if a new flavour will work or whether a new design is going to be just right.
Top local quality
We uphold the idea of great quality, locally produced products brought to you. If you buy from us, your money stays circulating in the local economy.
Everything is grown, stitched or cooked within a 10 mile radius of the town.
You can also be assured that because our producers bake, cook, simmer and stew their creations in small batches at home, there are no added artificial preservatives or flavourings.
Our heritage
The origins of Country Markets lie with the W.I. Markets. These began in 1919, run by the National Federation of Womens Institutes (NFWI).
From 1995 the markets became independent from NFWI, using the name ‘Country Markets’. Our reputation has been built on the quality of our products, the friendly, personal experience of the Markets, and a real sense of community.
